This Travis Heights bungalow had the bones, scale, and street presence that drew its owners to the neighborhood, but the floor plan and aging systems couldn't support modern family life. We reorganized the existing footprint and added a carefully scaled rear addition that reads as part of the original house, a goal the clients held strongly. Original 1930s details were preserved on the front elevation; new spaces were detailed to match. Interiors by Shannon Eddings Interiors. Photography by Molly Culver Photography.

"Carolyn did a fantastic job bringing our vision to life for a major remodel and addition to our historic bungalow. People comment all the time that our addition looks like part of the original house, which was the seamless look we wanted to achieve. She was so easy to work with, thoughtful, and provided great value for what we paid her. Compared with other architects we consulted, we definitely felt the most comfortable trusting Carolyn to help us with this project that was so important to our family."
